Lisa qualified from Hull University in 2000 with a DipSW in Social Work and a degree in Social Work and Social Policy. Lisa initially practiced within Local Authority Children’s Social Care, in the field of Looked After Children and Child Protection. Lisa has also spent some time working in the voluntary sector, as a Children’s Services Practitioner within the NSPCC, focussing specifically supporting families in the aftermath of child sexual abuse. Lisa has been based at the University of Hull since January 2009.
Since qualification, Lisa has completed the Post Qualifying Award in Child Care and the Practice Teaching Award, and successfully gained an MSc in Research in 2008. Lisa obtained the PGCHE in 2011 and contributes to teaching within the University on areas such as Child protection, Court work, Assessment and Neglect. Lisa is currently undertaking her PhD in the area of child neglect.
