Focus CIC – Independent Adult Social Work

In North East Lincolnshire statutory social work functions for older people and people with a physical or learning disability are provided by focus CIC – independent adult social work, which was launched via a pilot with the Department of Health in April 2012 – subsequently becoming independent in September 2013. This was undertaken to ensure our social workers had the freedom to organise themselves in ways that best meet the needs of the local population. The emphasis is on the individual’s abilities aiming to promote independence and wellbeing.

Services include:

  • Assessment and review
  • Long-term case management
  • Safeguarding and
  • Mental Capacity Act & Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards

And in partnership with health provide:

  • A single point of access
  • A continuing health care assessment and review service
  • Arrangements for care services
